The meeting then went as follows:
A full spreadsheet of the accounts was distributed during the meeting and John as Treasurer reported on the finances which showed that the club, after all expenditure had been accounted for, had total assets of £804.66. Additional copies are available for those not present from John on request. John was thanked for his continued hard work in 2019 and the accounts agreed.
At this point there was a discussion on how we could use some this money for the benefit of the members. Suggestions included, provision of a coach for a walk further afield, part payment to fee paying walks such as Magnalonga and/or weekend away, along with a possible contribution towards our Christmas lunch. These ideas will be discussed amongst the committee during the year.
With no other nominations being received the committee was re-elected unopposed and is as follows:

Information for all the walks will be sent out prior to the date by e-mail and all walk details will be available via the web site.
There is a new venue for our Christmas Lunch this time at the Wayfarer in Stone. Anyone who is interested in meeting beforehand we can meet at the entrance to Downs Bank Car Park for short walk through one of Staffordshire's hidden gems

Membership fees will stay at £5 with the option of using some of our funds to contribute towards some of our activities during the year. Invited guests will, as in previous years, be free, subject to a maximum of 3 outings, when they will be asked to join. We continue to actively promote the benefits of our gatherings to new members and have had a number of additions to the mailing list recently
There were a number of suggestions for the weekend away. Two being Malvern, Yorkshire Dales. Please send any other suggestions to the Secretary by the Friday 14 th Feb for consideration. It was also proposed and agreed that Doug Wilson be made an Honorary Member of STAR's walking. Doug was one of the instigators of our club over 40 years ago, and it is a testament to his devotion to the group that we are still going strong. Thank you Doug
