Other items discussed include:
3rd Party Liability: Due to the cost to the club we are no longer providing 3rd party liability. Individual members are now responsible for any claims made against them by a 3rd party i.e. Farmers, Landowners etc. when walking with the STAR's.
First Aider: We will always endeavour to have at least one First Aider on each walk. If this is not possible we will make it clear at the start of each event.
Ramblers Association: We will continue to support the Ramblers Association with our affiliation to this organization.
Membership campaign: We are a small group who enjoy each other's company but can always accommodate a few more members. To this end we plan to raise the existence of the club with a poster campaign in Telecom House, briefing to the local Communication Workers Union and work on raising the coverage of our events in the local media. As members, if you know of anyone who may be interested then please feel free to forward on our details.
Capital Idea: We have been discussing for a number of years now a day out walking in London and are looking into "letting the train take the strain" with a day out in the Capital. Initial thoughts are a Saturday or Sunday in March. Arriving at Euston and travelling by Tube to Westminster Pier before taking the Clipper service to Greenwich. From here we plan to walk under the Thames possibly to Canary Warf and then return to Westminster via the DLR and Thames pathway taking in St. Paul's and maybe even BT Centre.
Membership for 2013: This is now due with. Please make your cheques payable to STARS and send to the Treasurer at the following address.
