Attendance had been on a par with previous years and we went on during the meeting to look at possible initiatives to increase the numbers coming along in 2015.
The meeting then went as follows:
A full spreadsheet of the accounts was distributed during the meeting and John as Treasurer reported on the finances which showed that the club after all expenditure had been accounted for had total assets of £417.91. Additional copies for those not present are available from John on request. John was thanked for his continued hard work in 2014 and the accounts agreed. Rather than becoming an affiliate of the Ramblers Association as in previous years it was decided to send a donation of £25 to help them in their worthy cause.
With no other nominations being received the committee was re-elected unopposed and is as follows:

Other items discussed include:
Due to the positive state of the finances it was agreed that Membership fees will reduce this year to £10, with any new invited guests being free, subject to a maximum of 3 walks when we would like them to join. The overall feeling was that we want to remain a relatively small group, as this helps when arranging walks and lunch stops etc. but we will continue to actively promote the benefits of our gatherings to new members.
With the success of our Saturday walks in London it was agreed that we should try this concept with our local walks and you will see our walk in May is also on a Saturday.
Christmas Walk. Sutton Hall has become a firm favorite in the calendar and we had a debate on how best to use our funds to meet our transport requirements when we walk in the area. Ideas included circular walks from Sutton, Meet at Sutton and Taxis/Minibus to and from Start & Finish, along with Car Share were discussed as this will allow more freedom to those who may not wish to walk in the morning session. No firm decision has been made as it still some way off but no doubt we will continue this debate throughout the year.
